GuruVastu (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website guruvastu.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services. By using GuruVastu, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

• Account Information — Email address, display name, and profile photo when you sign in via Google or email/password through Firebase Authentication.
• Floor Plan Images — Images you upload for Vastu analysis. These are stored in your account and can be deleted by you at any time.
• Preferences — City, Vastu tradition preference, property type, and other selections you make through our contextual nudge system. These are stored in your browser's localStorage.
• Payment Information — Payment details are processed securely by Razorpay, our payment gateway. We do not store your credit card or bank account details on our servers. We receive only transaction confirmation and order identifiers from Razorpay.
• Usage Data — Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns collected via PostHog analytics.
• Device Information — Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address (for analytics and security purposes).

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and deliver Vastu Shastra analysis of your floor plans
• Generate compliance reports, scores, and remedies
• Personalise your experience based on your tradition and city preferences
• Process payments and deliver purchased reports
• Communicate important updates about your account or our services
• Improve our analysis algorithms and user experience
• Prevent fraud and ensure security of our platform

Your data is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) infrastructure. Our Firestore database is hosted in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region, meaning your data is stored in India.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules restricting database access, and regular security reviews.

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — For user sign-in and account management
• Cloud Firestore (Google) — For storing user data, analyses, and preferences
• Razorpay — For payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
• PostHog — For product analytics and session replay
• Google Fonts — For typography (Geist, Playfair Display, Nunito, and Indic script fonts)
• Firebase Hosting (Google) — For serving our website

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing data they process. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

GuruVastu does not use traditional browser cookies. We use localStorage (browser-side storage) for:

• Theme preference — Your selected visual theme (GuruVastu / Minimal / Premium) and colour mode (light/dark)
• Language preference — Your selected language for UI text
• Nudge answers — Your responses to contextual questions (city, tradition, property type) for personalisation
• Firebase Auth tokens — Authentication session tokens managed by Firebase SDK

PostHog analytics may set its own cookies for session tracking. You can clear all stored data by clearing your browser's site data.

Under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data that we hold
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Delete your personal data and account
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Floor plan images and analysis results can be deleted by you at any time from your account dashboard. If you request account deletion, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

GuruVastu is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
