Entrance & Doors

The mouth of the home — where prana enters or escapes

110 patterns110 with full details

About Entrance & Doors

In Vastu Shastra, the main entrance is called the 'Mukha Dwara' — literally the mouth of the building. It is the single most scrutinised element in any Vastu consultation because it governs how cosmic energy (prana) enters, circulates, and either nourishes or depletes the household. The classical 32-Pada entrance grid divides each wall into eight segments, of which only specific padas are auspicious for door placement. A door in the wrong pada — even on an otherwise favourable wall — can invert the energy signature of the entire home. This category covers 110 patterns spanning main door direction, the Pada system, threshold (Dehliz) design, door-opening direction, materials (teak preferred), road-arrow (Veedhi Shoola) effects, and the critical rule that three aligned doors create an energy hemorrhage.

Why It Matters

1

The main door is the most important single element in Vastu — consultants assess it first because it governs overall prana flow

2

The 32-Pada grid means even a 2-foot shift in door position can change the energy from auspicious to inauspicious

3

Door defects like Veedhi Shoola (road-arrow) or three-in-a-line are among the most common violations in Indian homes
