Your Staircase in Vastu

The staircase is the vertical energy conduit of a multi-story home — it channels prana between floors and can either amplify or drain the home's energy depending on placement and rotation. Vastu prescribes staircases in the South, West, or Southwest — the heavy side of the home where upward movement doesn't disturb the light, divine energy of the Northeast. The staircase must ascend in a clockwise direction (when viewed from the bottom looking up), mirroring the sun's apparent movement across the sky. An anti-clockwise staircase is believed to reverse the home's fortune. The staircase should never start or end directly in front of the main entrance, and should never be placed in the centre (Brahmasthan) of the home.
