Griha Pravesh is the birth ceremony of a home. Just as Jatakarma (birth rites) welcome a child, this ritual welcomes the dwelling into conscious existence. Every element is activated: fire through the kitchen stove, water through the milk, earth through the threshold, air through the mantras, and space through the sacred intention.

Traditional consequence: House remains energetically 'unborn' — the family occupies a structure but not a home. Restlessness and lack of belonging.

Griha Pravesh during Pitru Paksha

Traditional consequence: Ancestral energies dominate the new home — may manifest as unexplained disturbances, sleep issues, or melancholy

First cooking done in wrong location (not SE kitchen)
