Your Entrance in Vastu
The entrance is the Mukha Dwara — the mouth of the home through which all prana enters. A North-facing entrance invites prosperity (Kubera's direction); an East-facing entrance channels wisdom and health (Surya's direction). The 32-Pada system divides each wall into eight segments, and only specific padas are auspicious for door placement — even a 2-foot shift can change the energy signature. The door must open inward (inviting energy in, not pushing it out), be made of solid wood (never hollow-core), and feature a raised threshold (Dehliz) that prevents negative energy from crossing. The entrance must be well-lit at all times — darkness repels prosperity. No shoes, bins, or clutter near the entrance. A Ganesha idol or symbol at the entrance removes obstacles from the prana pathway.
